| Site up, lost some user accounts, Linux has to wait | Posted by IH on May. 7
After much hard crashing on the server, the forum user database table got corrupted. I recovered what I can, but around 11 user accounts was lost. Sorry. If you can't login to the forum anymore, please re-register. This shouldn't happen again once I move the database to the new harddrive with NTFS.
The motherboard _seems_ to be fixed, no guarantee for uptime yet. I was able to test the site under Linux again, and I did some tests. The performance gain is around 10%, so I decided it's too much trouble for what it's worth. I will eventually move the site to Linux once I find a dedicated server for it. Or when I can afford it (hint hint)
The bot is back up with some bug fixes. New code now lets you directly opt-in and opt-out of isoHunt,
details here
. A major bummer is the bot often comes when the fserve owner is not available to respond with a CTCP command, and I can't have the bot simultaneously be at all channels at all times to take commands.
The solution is make an "on join" event for the indexer's nick (IH-beta) and /ctcp him with your choice. I may write a tutorial once i have time. Yeah, this is getting annoying, blah blah.
But the CTCP commands are working as far as I can tell, so I'm not accepting anymore opt-out requests on this forum. Any requests must be done over IRC, as much as you might not like it.

If you got here from a "Your fserve is being indexed" notice (most likely), welcome! There are some recent changes to isoHunt you should know before you start flaming:
• All non-XDCC triggers (fserves) have been *censored*. I hope this satisfy those of you not happy with your server details being posted on the web. This will remain censored until I figure out a system of "restricted trigger viewing" to select groups of people, which don't pose a security risk / invasion of privacy.
• The spider has been expanded to parse XDCC triggers as well. Such triggers has "xdcc send #" in them. I'm not censoring these triggers, as they and the files associated are publicly advertised in channels and the web anyway. (packetnews, mydownloader)
