本作故事发生在分为多个小国的Telius大陆，玩家扮演蓝发主角Ike，他Ike梦想成为父亲成立的Grail佣兵团的正式成员。在Crimea王国的雇佣兵要塞附近，Ike拯救了一个女子，这名女子原来就是Crimea王国的公主。她告诉他，附近的Daein帝国已经开始入侵Crimea，她必须前往半人半兽族的家园Gallia。战火在整个大陆蔓延，Ike和他所在的佣兵团耀保护公主安全抵达目的地。在战斗过程中，他们将会发现战争背后的真实原因，以及这个分裂的世界背后的神秘起源。
